CEO View From The Big Desk
This column will highlight how all of us start somewhere in our professional journey. As all new businesses grow, owners take on many different roles for the company:
- Sales person
- and on and on.
Where does anyone start who owns their own business? Well I started as the company’s business manager as a front desk receptionist. My husband decided to open his own business after being promoted to Executive Director of a company, and realizing that it was not the position he thought it was going to be. He quickly learned that he needed help running the business. After he outsourced the billing procedures, he and I discovered that I could do it not only faster but much more cheaply. This added to my previous experience as an administrative assistant, department head, facility trainer and a certified Recreational Therapist gave me the ammunition I needed to run the business successfully.
The business has grown to house 6 coaches and will soon have two locations. Now I run the business from behind the big desk!
